VERSA
VERSA is a versatile 4GX/4G/3G pendant that comes with a convenient magnetic charger cradle that can be placed on a bedside table.
It can be worn either as a pendant neck cord, or clipped onto a belt. The belt-clip is often preferred by men, and is recommended for use with pacemakers (belt-clip is shown).
The SoS button and the status lights are very easy to see. If the SoS button is pressed for more than 3 seconds the pendant will beep for a further 15 seconds. if it is not cancelled within this period SoS text messages, and a Google Map link, will be sent to the first three Emergency Contacts. The pendant will then make voice phone calls to all Emergency Contacts, in turn, until one person answers and acknowledges the call by pressing the 1-key on their phone.
The anti-voice mailbox feature knows when a real person has answered the phone call - not a voice mailbox. If a voice mailbox answers the call the pendant will leave a short message and go on to call the next person on the Emergency Contact on the list.
If a fall is detected the pendant will beep for 15 seconds. if the fall alarm is not cancelled within this period text messages and phone calls are sent, in the same manor as an SoS call. Fall detection can be switched on or off, and its sensitivity can be adjusted over a very wide range, by sending the pendant a simple text message.
There is an easy to use wanderer-alert for seniors in the early stages of dementia, a find-me function to locate a missing person or a lost pendant, and very many more functions useful in security applications.
The VERSA pendant operates on its battery for about 3-days, and constantly monitors the state of charge. If the battery falls below 20% the pendant will send a battery-low text message to your first Emergency Contact.
The pendant weighs 55 grams and is waterproof to international Standard IP67. This means you can wear it in the shower. The size is 64 mm x 39 mm x 19 mm, and it weighs 55 grams.
Importantly, the VERSA pendant fully complies with all relevant Australian Radio communications and Telecommunications Standards. Copies of compliance certificates are available from FirstCall.
When you purchase your VERSA pendant we will ask you to provide a list of your Emergency Contacts and their phone numbers. We will also ask you if you require Fall Detection to be activated. We use this information to set up your VERSA pendant, so when you receive it there is nothing more you need to do, other than give it a try.
The FirstCall SIM
FirstCall Mobile Medical Alarms come with 12 months of Telstra mobile network access for emergency and test calls. The pendant can answer any number of incoming phone calls.
If the 4G network is unavailable in your area the pendant will automatically fall-back to the 3G service. See About the FirstCall SIM.

Important - You should not purchase a 3G-only medical alarm if you need it to last more than a couple of years.
The Telstra 3G network is closing in 2024, and other operators 3G networks are expected to close around the same time. Additionally, 3G networks may be affected prior to shut-down as operators direct resources towards their new networks. You should not buy a 3G only device.
Our 4G pendants use the full Telstra 4GX/4G network with 3G backup if the 4G is not yet available in your area. Telstra 4GX uses 700MHz spectrum that can go further than previous 4G frequencies with less signal loss in buildings. The effect is better 4G coverage in rural and regional areas, and improved in-building coverage.
How They Work
The FirstCall VERSA mobile alarm pendant is small, attractive, lightweight, water resistant to IP67, and operates over the full 4G or 3G Telstra mobile phone network. This type of pendant is the best choice if you also need protection away from your home or office.
When the SoS button is pressed for three seconds the VERSA pendant will vibrate and beep, and then send text messages and make voice make calls to your Family and Friends (your Contacts). Your family and friends will know that you need help, and they will be able to see your GPS location on a Google Map on their smartphone.
The VERSA pendant has a 15 second pre-alarm period, during which time the alarm can be cancelled by pressing the side button. If the side button is not pressed the pendant will send text messages to your Family and Friends together with your GPS location.
After the text messages are sent voice phone calls are made to your Family and Friends, one at a time. When they answer the call they will hear a voice message asking them to press the 1-key on their phone, if they press their 1-key the pendant will allow a two-way loud-speaking conversation. It will not call any other Family and Friends contacts.
If your contacts have a voice-mailbox on their phone the pendant will leave the voice message on their voice-mailbox and the pendant will call the next number on the list.
The VERSA pendant also has an optional Fall Detector with adjustable sensitivity. If the pendant detects a fall it will send text messages and make voice calls your Contacts to let them know you have fallen. Please see our information About Fall Detectors.
There are many other useful functions such as Find-Me - you can make a call to the pendant and it will respond with its GPS location; a wandering feature can alert you if the pendant is taken outside a pre-defined area; an an incoming phone call can be answered by a short press of the emergency button; and much more. All FirstCall Medical Alarm pendants are supplied fully set-up and ready to go out-of-the-box. To make it even easier, we also program-in all your family and Friends phone numbers. There is nothing more you need to do other than charge the battery and give it a test.
