FirstCall "Home Safe"

For use around the home.

How it Works

FirstCall ‘Home Safe’ is a Medi-Alert alarm that summons help in the event of an emergency, by sending calls to either family and friends or a 24/7 monitoring service.

The system consists of a lightweight waterproof pendant or watch, and a base station connected to your telephone line or NBN modem.

The pendant or watch can be worn in the bath or shower and have sufficient range for the average sized home and garden.

When you press the FirstCall pendant or watch the alarm unit will sound for 10 seconds. It will then automatically call your emergency contacts in order to summon help.

This is a tried and proven Medical Alarm that operates over the NBN or a standard telephone line. It can be used anywhere there is a home telephone service. The main advantages are: simplicity; ease of use; low cost; no battery recharging required; and there is no mobile phone SIM account that needs to be regularly topped-up with credit.

Family and Friends Monitoring (Option 1)

Family & Friends Alarm.jpg

When Family and Friends take all the calls for assistance there are no monthly monitoring fees and no contracts to sign - all you pay is the once-only purchase price.

We program up to five emergency contact phone numbers for your family and friends, neighbours, or carers. The last number called can be the 000 emergency service, (please see the links below for more information).

When you need help simply press the large red button on the Firstcall pendant and the alarm unit will call each of your emergency contacts in turn.  When they answer the call they will hear the personalised voice message, so they will immediately know that you need help.

If you are within voice range of the base-station they will also be able to speak to you over the sensitive loudspeaker, though this is not necessary for them to know that you need help.

Your Family and Friends can receive your calls for help anywhere they have a fixed or mobile phone service, even if they are out shopping etc.

The voice message will ask them to push the #-key (hash) on their phone twice if they can respond. If they do this the alarm will not call other people. If they do not press their #-key twice, the FirstCall alarm will hang-up and call the next person on the list.

Calls that go to answering machines and voice mailboxes will not be counted as a successful call (because nobody has pushed their #-key twice). The FirstCall ‘Home Safe’ alarm will leave a voice message in their voice-mailbox and then hang-up and continue to call other people.

Or Use Our 24/7 Professional Monitoring (Option 2)

FirstCall ‘Home Safe’ can send all calls to a professional 24-hour monitoring service.

Although 24-hour monitoring incurs an ongoing monthly fee it does provide a greater level of security, and lessens the anxiety you may feel about inconveniencing others.

If you choose this option a professionally trained Operator will receive all your calls for assistance and will automatically know who you are, and that you need help.

The Operator will then attempt to speak with you over the base-stations sensitive loudspeaker. It is not necessary for the operator to speak with you. If they cannot speak with you they will follow the instructions you gave them when you set up the Monitoring Service. For instance, you may have instructed them to call your family and friends first and then call an ambulance, or perhaps call an ambulance first and then let your family and friends know what has happened.

The Monitoring Service will also automatically and silently check the operation of your Medical Alarm each week, so there is additional peace of mind that everything is working.

You can switch to 24/7 Monitoring later, all you need to do is call us on 1300 40 80 80 and we will arrange everything for you.

Installation is very easy. FirstCall ‘Home Safe’ comes fully programmed with your personal voice message and all your contact phone numbers. When you receive your FirstCall Medical Alarm just plug it into a power point and the telephone socket, and follow the simple step-by-step instructions.

Although powerful on the inside, the FirstCall ‘Home Safe’ Medical Alarm has been designed to be very simple to use.
